Greg Waite, CEO of InventionShare™, announced today that Circuit Seed™, a new family of circuit building blocks for processing analog signals using fully digital components and design flow, is now able to significantly improve the functionally of television offerings from all manufacturers. It is estimated that over 15 million television sets are produced annually from 18 branded manufacturers.
Speaking from his Ottawa office, Mr. Waite said this significant breakthrough is a game changer for the television manufacturers. Circuit Seed’s new foundation inventions can increase screen sensitivity, reduce the number of circuits, provide better screen resolution and high fidelity audio integrity, and produces better signal, WiFi/Wireless reception and communications quality.
“What we have here is a major breakthrough for the television industry and a real game changer for television manufacturers who want to make their sets stand out. By integrating digital circuits processing analog signals that are low power, there is an opportunity to satisfy the large segments of the consumer and business markets that just want a much better television experience with the lowest possible energy and impact,” said Mr. Waite.
Circuit Seed inventions are founded on a mixture of decades of experience and creativity, supported by a robust portfolio of IP. Circuit Seed introduces a dramatic shift in the existing design of analog circuits, effectively eliminating many of the known shortcomings. Benefits include: unprecedented precision without precision parts; ultra-linear operation over an extreme dynamic range (>106); low noise, ultrahigh speed (analog at logic speed) and extreme low voltage (down to ~0.1V power supply); process parameter independence; compact footprint (amplifiers about the size of a couple of NAND gates); low power (~100uW for multi-GHz-range operation down to 10pW for KHz-range operation); and portable designs between ultra-deep sub-µm CMOS technology process nodes. This paradigm shift has eliminated the use of current mirrors or differential matched pairs with traditional bulky analog transistors while being able to recover from sleep mode at logic speed.
Results from simulation and silicon tests demonstrate a dramatic reduction in power, better performance and higher accuracy, all with small integrated circuit footprints. The circuit designs are much simpler, reducing product costs with faster development, so less testing is required and there are fewer circuits to contend with. These circuits are far more reliable in the newest CMOS processes, making Circuit Seed a real breakthrough for television manufacturing.
Mr. Waite said, “Vast improvements in television screen resolution over the years, combined with internet and streaming, are making their way into multiple rooms augmenting the mobile wireless experience. While consumers are motivated by even better screen resolution and better sound, people and planet benefit from energy savings. Manufacturers benefit by meeting social and consumer needs while reducing their costs by becoming more fully digital and reducing their reliance on older and energy inefficient analog circuitry.”
InventionShare is now looking for strategic partners who want to incorporate Circuit Seed technology into their product offerings, satisfying the endless demand for entertainment technologies, meeting or exceeding environmental objectives, leveraging market share, and increasing margins through a competitive feature set with design and manufacturing advantages.
